Hi....I'm Mia

and I work out of The Therapy Space in Arundel as a Play and Creative Arts Therapist with children, young people and their families.  The challenges of life can make a young person feel overwhelmed and isolated and I am here to help.  Talking  about problems can be hard for children, and play and creativity is a child’s natural language.  It can help your child explore their emotions, process their experiences, and express themselves. As a parent or caregiver, it can be difficult seeing your young person struggle,  I am here to help them & you make sense of their experiences so they can get back to enjoying life to its fullest again!

How Can I Help You...

As a qualified Play Therapist and Creative Arts Therapist, offering an integrative, holistic and trauma-informed approach to supporting children’s emotional wellbeing. I provide a safe, nurturing, and child-led therapeutic space where children can express themselves naturally through play rather than words alone.

Your child will be invited to freely choose from a wide range of expressive and sensory mediums, including sand play, small-world figures, puppetry, therapeutic stories, role play and drama, art, music, movement, and sensory play.  This will encourage your young person to open up and communicate at their own pace, in their own way, using what feels most comfortable to them.

I bring over 15 years’ experience in teaching and mentoring children, alongside a career in the creative arts, and a long-standing interest in child psychology and emotional wellbeing, into my work.  It may be difficult for your child to talk about their problems, and play therapy offers your child a powerful, developmentally appropriate way to explore feelings, process experiences, and make sense of their world.

Over the last six years I have worked therapeutically with children and young people in a range of primary and secondary schools across East & West Sussex: supporting them with loss and bereavement, neurodivergence, family issues, issues at school, behavioural difficulties and processing overwhelming experiences.  I am there for parents and carers too, offering practical guidance and emotional support and recognising the important role you and other family members play in your child's healing and future resilience. â€‹

Your child can benefit from increased confidence and self-esteem, be able to handle their anxieties and emotional stresses in a better way, whilst developing greater emotional regulation and respect for boundaries. If you would like to learn more, please get in touch or visit my website.
